Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Silva and I’m an Elementary/Middle Education major with a minor in Art Therapy, Art, and Special Education. I grew up in a not so big town near the cape called Middleboro, Ma. When I graduate I plan on moving to Maine to teach in a Middle School English classroom. I choose to teach Middle School because I feel that at that age students need to have a supportive helpful teacher that is passionate about what they do and I want to be that teacher for them. Teaching has always been something I love to do. I have been working in daycares since the beginning of High School. In High School, I graduated with an infant through pre-k teaching certificate as I went to a technical High School and worked hard for 4 years to gain all the hours I needed. During the summer when I am not nannying or working in a daycare, I tutor students as young as kindergarten and as old as 8th grade to help them with summer school, summer homework, or to make sure they don’t lose all the knowledge they gained during the time away from school.

When I am not working or in school, I am a very avid artist. I work with a lot of mediums but one of my favorite things to do is to make books and create Special Effects Makeup looks. On this site, I created a blog with 10-11 posts on Special Effects Makeup, how to create a couple of looks, what tools you need, and more. The books I create are simple and work off of small ideas I have. For example, I have made a book on different types of cancers, a mindfulness book for children, and a book out of the card I have been given over the years. Overall, I really enjoy creating art and making things for others.
