Codecademy offers a variety of online, self-paced coding courses. Some of these are free; others are paid. I have completed 13 lessons in the Learn HTML and the Learn CSS courses. In addition, I have completed most of the Make a Website course. Each course offers new information on different coding strategies.
What I’ve Learned from These Courses:
Through Codecademy, I have learned a lot. I have worked with code before through different websites and in k-8 classrooms with activities through programs such as “Hour of Code” and “Code Day”. Though I have all spent time with coding, I have never coded like this. I learned how to use different symbols to change how things are presented such as making things bold or different colors. I learned how to add videos and images. I learned the HTML is the base of all websites and CSS is where you can add life to the website. This knowledge that I have gained can be used in future career opportunities and help me with different tasks in my life such as if I wanted to create a website/blog.
Below is a screenshot of my progress in these three courses.
